Balin Law happily announces that Melissa Yasinow has joined the firm as its Managing Attorney for the Education & Title IX Group. Melissa brings over a decade of litigation experience to Balin Law. Melissa has significant experience defending students at high schools, colleges, and universities in Title IX cases and in student misconduct, professionalism, and academic integrity proceedings. Melissa is particularly proud of her work defending students with disorders including Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Since 1980, Balin Law has been representing clients with disabilities in Social Security Disability and disability insurance matters, and now looks forward to expanding its practice into the educational arena.
“We are very excited to welcome Melissa to our team at Balin Law,” said principal attorney Paulette Balin. “Her experience advocating for students with disabilities and her familiarity with Title IX investigations will be a great addition to our practice.”
Melissa is proud of her work representing students during some of the most difficult times of their lives. “I look forward to advocating for my clients, especially those who are neurodiverse or who live with mental health disabilities, in all settings,” said Melissa Yasinow. “I am thrilled to continue representing students in Title IX and other proceedings. I also know that my experience will nicely complement the disability law practice at Balin Law and will expand our ability to help our clients overcome the obstacles they face every day.”
Melissa is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. She received her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College, Magna Cum Laude, and her law degree from Case Western Reserve University, Magna Cum Laude and Order of the Coif.
